Lupus Awareness Color Walk

Updated: Dec 12, 2020

The month of June provided many volunteer opportunities for Key Club Members to help out their community, one of which was the Lupus Awareness Color Walk. This event’s purpose was to enhance people’s understanding about the disease known as Lupus. Members learned about what Lupus is and how to help a Lupus patient. Most shifts lasted about eight hours, but went by quickly because of all the fun activities provided such as participating in the throwing of the color, Zumba, and listening to the experiences of Lupus patients. Volunteers helped the event run smoothly by setting up before the event started, selling food and beverages to the hungry color walkers, and by greeting people at the entrance with stickers and stamps. Others helped out by simply sitting on post to make sure the event’s sign did not fall over. Members that volunteered at this event left with a great feeling in the hearts to have helped out at such a meaningful event.
