Cards for Hospitalized Children

With quarantine from COVID-19 cases being a barrier for Lincoln High School to gather and service together, an at home service event of creating cards for hospitalized children was publicized. Members were encouraged to express their creativity to create cards of encouraging words at home, and mail them to the provided address where they would be distributed to hospitalized kids. Each card made was 15 minutes of service, members were directed to send a picture of the cards they have created as proof for hours. This service event enabled for the efforts, words, and arts of cards created from miles away to cheer up children and encourage them of their strength, as well as put a smile on children's’ faces. Though quarantine has proved to be a challenge in limiting the amount of in person service events possible, serving the community continued to be thoroughly encouraged. This service event will be ongoing and continue to provide members with the opportunities to serve. Though the term was off to an unprecedented start, Lincoln High School officers will continue to find creative and new ways for members to serve the community from home.
